Growing up, I was sheltered and always thought my parents were too strict. I wasn’t allowed to do a lot of things my peers were doing. I was excited to go to college and have freedom making my own choices. However, I quickly returned to the foundation of my upbringing. That’s when I appreciated and understood why my parents raised me the way they did. It developed my character and molded me into who I am today. 
 
I wholeheartedly believe it is our responsibility to guide the youth. Whether it’s through parenting, mentoring, or simply leading by example. In a world full of darkness and superficial influences, it is important that we steer them in the right direction.
