Artist Statement: My Sitting Plenty figures embody self-love, body positivity, and anti-bullying. 
 
The handwritten notes in this painting are lyrics from the song "Freedom Time" by Lauryn Hill. While painting, the lyrics to this song really resonated with me going through my season of self-discovery. 
 
“It’s freedom time.” 
“It’s time to get free.”
