No. 10 - Sitting Plenty Series, "Vines"
Artist Statement: My “Sitting Plenty” figures embody self-love, body positivity, and anti-bullying. Handwritten notes woven into the work carry messages of faith, identity, and purpose:
"Who told you that you were naked?" – Genesis 3:11
"I am the vine, and you are the branches." – John 15:4-5
"You may be the only Bible some people ever read."
Seven tally marks serve as a reminder of forgiveness, echoing Matthew 18:22: “You must forgive…seventy times seven.”
The sheep represent the parable of the lost one (Matthew 18:12, Luke 15:7), symbolizing God’s love and care — a reminder that even those who stray are never forgotten.
Through these symbols, my work speaks of grace, restoration, and unconditional love.
